Fellowship

God is faithful by whom we are called unto the fellowship of his son Jesus Christ our Lord. (1corinthians 1:9)

And truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his son, Jesus Christ. (1 john1:3b)

The grace of our lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the communion (fellowship) of the Holy Ghost be with you all. Amen (2 Corinthians 13:14)

If you look closely, you will notice that the three verses all have the word "fellowship"
Fellowship means association, communion, intimacy and day to day communication and participation. In biblical terms partnership, association, communion and intimacy.

This is a word that unconsciously plays out in our day to day lives. Without fellowship, you can’t know the personality of someone or a group of people. It takes constant fellowship, day to day communication and association to really tell intimately of something or someone.

This also applies to our individual lives, fellowship leads to the bonds of our friendship getting stronger. In our relationships, it takes fellowship to stay strong, get to know each other better and develop a strong commitment. In our various families, it takes fellowship to build a strong home.

Also in our walk with God, in our lives as Christians, one of the core foundations of Christianity is Fellowship.

God created man for fellowship. When God created Adam, He had a relationship with him and when He came down at the cool of the day to talk to Adam; that was fellowship. God could have sent his angels to talk to Adam on his behalf instead He showed up Himself. That tells me that God knew more about fellowship and He wanted it and was involved in it. I believe Adam got to know God better because of the fellowship He had with God.

It was the same fellowship that God had with Abraham, and God called him a friend. When He was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, He made sure Abraham knew of it and Abraham pleaded on behalf of the city.

Many of us have lost that, it is either we are too busy chasing career or that we are so into God’s blessings that we forget God. We only talk to God in the mornings in a short prayer full of complaints and request. Most times we don’t even pray.

God longs for fellowship, He wants to reveal himself to his children, and He wants to change lives. -

Yes, we are Christians and there is a relationship with God, but it goes beyond that...... God wants fellowship.

It takes fellowship to know more about God. It takes fellowship to carry the presence of God. It takes fellowship to know the will of God. It is in fellowship with God that our convictions are strengthened and realities are birthed in our spirit. It also in fellowship with God that his strength becomes evident in our lives, His wisdom, love and understanding also added.

It takes fellowship to let go of ‘self’, and God takes over and it keeps you in constant connection with God and above all, it takes fellowship to get intimate with God.
A Christian without fellowship with God has something missing. I challenge you to find a quiet place and talk with Him. With the help of the Holy Ghost, spend more time with Him in prayer and worship. He listens, He hears and mostly He has been waiting for you to talk to him from your heart.

Can you today create that habit of talking to God every day? Can you really open your heart to know Him for yourself?  He longs for your fellowship.

Remember "relationship brings us together BUT fellowship keeps us together". I believe this has brought light to your heart.

God bless you!
