The Holy Communion

Yesterday was the first Sunday service in the month of April and as a custom, we partook of the Holy Communion (The Body and Blood of Christ) and a brief word on its importance. However, I’ve recently acquainted myself with the meaning and implications of a covenant. Indeed, my discovery was WOW! (For more on covenants, click here).

In taking the Holy Communion, we are remembering and proclaiming the death of The Risen Christ for us (1Corinthians 11:26). We are to remember that HE broke His body for our sake; paying the price of our sins we owed yet couldn’t pay and being the substitution (sacrificial lamb as used in making a covenant) for our death penalty (1Peter 2:24). Therefore, we have been freed from all sicknesses, lack, oppression and condemnation whatsoever FOREVER IN CHRIST (Romans 8:1). And this is our proclamation to the devil.

The blood which was poured out for all signifies the new love covenant we have with God in Christ (Matthew 26:28, Hebrews 12:24). This perfects the old covenant which was unable to save us because of the Law which brought condemnation, guilt and death. God never wants us away from Him so in His love, He broke the rules, coming down in the form of men to be offered as a perfect sacrifice and atonement for our sins that we may receive salvation and the forgiveness of sins.

He gave His own life for you; for each and every one of us. And He left us with a new command: TO LOVE (John 13:34-35). Love breaks the rules for the other person! His Love has set us FREE!!

If you want to get it right with God, you want to give your life to Him or (re)dedicate your life to Christ, please say this prayer with me:

Dear Father, Lord Jesus Christ, I acknowledge that I have done wrong before You and man. I come to you today as I have nowhere else to go. I want to experience a new life in You as You’ve promised in Your Word. I accept your love for me which was displayed on the Cross. I believe that you died and resurrected and reign in Heaven. I accept you now as Lord and Savior of my life. Help me Lord in my new walk in life with You. Amen!

Congratulations! You’ve made the best choice. Please join a good church in your area which will help build you as you also build yourself with the Word of God and the with the help of the Holy Spirit.
