Commitment

Proverbs 16:3, 1Kings 8:61, Romans 8:38-39

Commitment is what transforms the promise into reality. It is the words that speak boldly of your intentions. And the actions which speak louder than the words… It is the daily triumph of integrity over skepticism. (Abraham Lincoln)… When I say I love you, I mean that I'm committed to working to love you even when it's hard.

I promised to help a friend out but I haven’t done that yet and it’s been up to five months now. Why? Lack of commitment! Many times we let people down and opportunities slip away because we lack commitment to a cause. More so, we now expect to get abundant results with minimal effort.

However, God is committed to loving us not dependent on our failures or shortcomings in committing to Him. He is so committed that even when there’s no reason to be, He still loves us the same. Nothing you’ll ever do can change that and that’s why we can come boldly seeking grace and mercy (Hebrews 4:16).

Even when He wants to bring glory to His name, He doesn’t only use the angels, heaven and all above, He also uses us; a man that doesn’t seem so worthy. He has become so knitted to us in love that He died, went to hell, couldn’t stop loving us and rose again so that He can love us even more! Isn’t that awesome? That something greater which can destroy you in seconds would choose to love you non-stop, back to back.

I don’t know about you but I just can’t neglect this kind of love or let it down. Even when I fall, I still get back up even if it’s just to show Him my effort in loving Him back; I try.

Plans are failing, homes are breaking, relationships are failing, and things are going wrong because we are not committed. But in all these things, just try. Try and be committed. Keep on trying… It’s a process. We’ll get there!
