Pure Water Life

      


Psalm 119:9, 2 Corinthians 7:1, 1 Timothy 4:12

Doesn’t it strike you how people change so drastically? Most times we have a friend who’s away for a while probably to school elsewhere and when he or she is back, we see a TOTALLY different person.

It’s happened to me a lot of times as some of my friends and I re-unite after a long while apart. It’s like we’re worlds apart as they’ve been reformed with some weird habits and attitude which makes it really hard to figure out things.

A drama in my church also portrayed this situation. It showcased a ‘good-girl-gone-bad’ who went to study abroad and returned to Nigeria transformed from a godly Christian to a lesbian drug addict. She had no care for her religious affairs and did as she pleased. She finally got what she asked for when she faced a near-death situation after taking excessive amounts of a particular drug from her lesbian partner.

What Am I Trying To Say???

          As Christians, we are to impact our environment positively and not be changed or reformed by it, no matter where we find ourselves. We are to live as Christ who lived not influenced and guided by the environment or situation of things around Him but by His Heavenly Father and the Word of God.
         
       When you take pure water and put it in a Coca-Cola bottle and then transfer it into a flask and further into a  cup, what do you get?... PURE WATER!


        We should endeavor to remain the upright, loving and God-seeking Christians we are no matter the circumstances we find ourselves in… When you start putting foreign materials into the water, it loses its purity.

Dealing with Failure

When God Seems Distant

           Some days, you feel like you're the one doing all the talking. It's like you woke up and the lights just went off. Its like God's gone on vacation!      I've felt like that too and it can really be frustrating. But while reading The Purpose Driven Life, a powerful book by Rick Warren, I got to see that this is actually a very important phase in our lives.      Just like Job's experience in the Bible, God seemed distant and didn't speak until 38 chapters later. But God never abandoned him nor left him to die of his sufferings. And despite all that Job went through, he never gave up on God.      This time is usually a period of testing to see just how much you can hold on to God when He keeps silent in your life. He really wants to show the accuser just how faithful a child He has that won't give up no matter what.
