Make The Vision Plain

Then the Lord answered me and said:
“Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry. (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

Vision: A picture of the future that creates passion.

This is a very delicate topic in the lives of everyone. It encompasses your future; how you see what and where you want to be. God knows the importance of every aspect of your life and He knows this is a BIG one. That's why He gave specific instructions in Habakkuk 2:2-3 and the importance to that effect.

Why develop and write down your vision?

Firstly, its a picture that's not yet clear but bright and with the passage of time, things change. These changes are essential and need to be documented at every stage to evaluate the development of your vision and yourself. Nothing should take you by surprise.

Make it plain; simple and clear! Be very precise so that as you or anyone also reads it, you can run/plan/work ahead with it. Your vision should do away with ambiguity which can cause confusion in goal-setting... Be real with yourself!

As one door closes, another opens... Write down your vision and pray over it. This is very crucial as all things are in God's hands. It is God who leads or directs the steps of a man to where He wills it (Proverbs 16:9). So that when things are turning you elsewhere, frustration does not set in. Pray for alignment.

Your vision is your blueprint of the future. It guides the construction process of your life as you'll be able to start setting and achieving goals to bring you closer to your vision be it physical, spiritual, academic, financial and otherwise. Most importantly, it brings you closer to fulfilling your purpose.

A vision is necessary for the following reasons:

1. It causes restraints. which helps keep you in check. Freedom without restraints simply spells out doom. It keeps you on the right path.

2. It gives meaning to life. It makes you vital and a very important part of a bigger picture. It also births hope which is a sign of life.

3. Visions make you expectant. You can begin to anticipate future results from present actions.

4. Working with a vision makes every other thing you do not to be too  far-fetched.

5. It helps you discover what you can actually achieve and aim higher.

6. A vision makes you stay focused; 'run with it'. When running on the path, your focus is on the finish line also preventing diversions.

Remember your purpose is timed, you don't have forever to fulfill it. So start praying over your vision. You may not have forever but you have all it takes. GOD IS WITH YOU!
