Getting Ear Plugs

                                                 
 

 Proverbs 23:12

         Our ears are left open and for this reason we get to hear intentionally and accidentally things of diverse nature. We hear the good, the bad and the ugly without moderation.

         The songs we hear while walking on the streets, the abusive words of people from the streets and TV shows and all manner of things.

         In this season, we must get ourselves connected to God's Word. We've got to get ourselves connected to a source of life. Our ears need to hear that which is edifying to the soul, in words and lyrics/rhythms.

         We can't continue letting everything in and constantly battle with such things when we try to think clearly or are left alone.

         Its time to get your ear plugs and get plugged in!

Dealing with Failure

I love to be associated with success. I like to meet expectations. I just didn’t know if I could stand failing. I was afraid. I prayed and studied and kept hoping every day. I told myself that I had to pass all five of my exams. I felt that was it. Probably if I cleared them all in one sitting, I’d be more satisfied and approved of. Well, I failed one and it hit me. When God Seems Distant

           Some days, you feel like you're the one doing all the talking. It's like you woke up and the lights just went off. Its like God's gone on vacation!      I've felt like that too and it can really be frustrating. But while reading The Purpose Driven Life, a powerful book by Rick Warren, I got to see that this is actually a very important phase in our lives.      Just like Job's experience in the Bible, God seemed distant and didn't speak until 38 chapters later. But God never abandoned him nor left him to die of his sufferings. And despite all that Job went through, he never gave up on God.      This time is usually a period of testing to see just how much you can hold on to God when He keeps silent in your life. He really wants to show the accuser just how faithful a child He has that won't give up no matter what.
