In 2017






When I stepped into the year 2017, I felt a burst of energy and life. The year 2016 ended on quite a sad note for me but I could definitely feel the newness and greatness of this year on the Crossover Night at exactly 12 midnight.

It was like breaking through a barrier…

Immediately, I perceived that this year held so much in store and I just couldn’t afford to let it slip away. So, I knew I had to be very careful and intentional about this year…  I began writing down my plans and asking God for direction.

I didn’t really get any ‘Word’ until I started reading the book of Genesis and at another time when my friend was telling me about the prophecies she heard for 2017 (of hardship, deaths but a special covering for God’s children) during the 2016 Crossover night and other events.

Two words I received from God for this year on a personal note: Firstly, this is a year of relief (Genesis 5:29). Secondly, this is a year of distinction between those who love God and serve Him and those who do not (Malachi 3:18).

We may have heard, are hearing or will still hear of woes to come in this year but we are to hold on to God and to His Word/promises. This is going to be a very good year to NOT lose your faith in Christ.

As Christ’s coming draws near and evil may multiply in the hearts of men, the truth still remains that the Earth is the LORD’s and it is full of His goodness (Psalms 33:5, Romans 5:20) therefore, we shall not be in despair…

In this year, He’ll carry us on His wings…

In this year, we’re spending from God’s pocket…

And despite all that Job went through, he never gave up on God.      This time is usually a period of testing to see just how much you can hold on to God when He keeps silent in your life. He really wants to show the accuser just how faithful a child He has that won't give up no matter what.

How Much Does Jesus Love You?

We are humans and we know that we are limited in our abilities so we make provisions for such. We can call it the ‘human factor’ or ‘human error’ or whatever we want to call it. When it comes to the subject of love, we tend to also limit ourselves and also place people in our lives on different scales. One will hear questions such as ‘How much do you love me?’ or ‘If you love me then prove it!’ or ‘Do you even love me anymore?’ or ‘I’m sorry. Please don’t leave me.’ I had this mentality too. I could go the extra mile for only a very few set of people who I felt were worth it. I didn't believe that a girl like me could ever be truly and fully loved. This isn't an easy thing to carry along with you into Christianity where you’re told and you read it in your Bible and you’re expected to believe in an all-loving God who will never leave you nor forsake you… in a God who will always show up and will always forgive no matter what… in an everyday kind of lov...

While We're Waiting

James 5:7-8  “Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.  You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.”     Time after time, school goes on a really long break and I have to travel back home. I end up staying at for months and I'm always complaining of the same old thing that plagues most of us: BOREDOM!       I have nothing to do for fun, hardly any friends around and there's always a chore to do which all bores me to tears.      However, someone said something in a Church Class that caught my attention. He said "We're bored because we don't want to think and work. We can't complain of boredom when we're busy".
